Hello all, I'm sort of looking for a change of pace. I'm getting a bit weary of the same 2 hideouts that I have had for awhile now. And I am just wondering what others are up to these days. For me I alternate between 2 places mostly. The Ravenous vault: (about 50 mil xp an hour.... with not much time to loot at my level) I am usually the lowest level person here, but they tolerate me cause I don't die (not yet at least). The Pengiun Hatchery (I fill me packs here with about 1 Major per buff cycle... lots of salvage (mainly green garnet, steel, aqua, inperial topaz, emerald, white sapphire and loads of FO, BO & Sunstone) and enough loot to get 2-3 MMD's per hour. I can fill up my packs in one buff cycle here. XP is low thou (8-10 mil per hour) because I spend so much time looting. So where is everone else hunting these days? Or can you make a suggestion for a new place that a Lev 121 3 school UA might try to have some new fun? For loot or xp I like both

Alyssum has been hunting the Withered Area or the Matron Hive for XP. Withered area seems to be good for weapons, but salvage is poor. Bugs drop a variety of stuff, but the salvage again is not as good as some area.
In the Abhorrent Vault and in the Tursh place, can't remember the name, the salvage is better but the XP is slow.
Since Deft seems likely to blow up every bag of jet and red garnet I can find, I'm hunting a lot for salvage. I've heard Rampagers drop good salvage and my plan was to check that out.

Interesting. I've had completely different results in the Ravenous Vault, Flad, though maybe it's just a time-of-day issue. There are normally so many people in there during peak hours, that time to loot isn't an issue. I just pick up anything that weighs less than 100bu and is worth more than 15000p. When my pack is full, I sell stuff in Sanamar and pop right back to the Vault. I usually get about 3 or 4 MMDs each time I sell, and I've found a few majors in there as well. Still, I look forward to 125 when I can get into the Insatiable Vault. The Ravenous eaters have been terrible with bows; they drop them, but they're not very good (a lot of 315s, and nothing anywhere near max). Also, there are just too many people in there much of the time. It's not unusual for me to see far more green dots than orange ones. I really dislike just standing around waiting for that respawn hiss. I guess I'd say that Ravenous eaters are the best I can do for money, salvage, cantrips, and certainly experience right now, while withered lugians are the best I can do for weaponry and armor; I find a lot more near-max bows and covenant on the big old grey boys. As far as rampagers go, they don't seem particularly better to me than eaters. The only difference is that they go down with one or two arrows, as opposed to 4 or 5, and they're not really worth any xp. I think you're better off sticking to something that's worth both experience and goodies. Then again, I'm not sure how hard it is to take down eaters with melee weapons; speed is definitely an issue when it comes to collecting salvage, and rampagers practically fall down when you look at them. (They don't drop much ql 8 salvage, though, and even ql 7 can be uncommon).

This is old world pre TOD. But from 130 to 140 (ish) i hunted the withered lugians in Vile. The exp. there was about 40-58 mill per hour and the loot was very good. A good major drop and they do drop wk 10 as per any high level creature.
I'm not sure know how many people get in there with the numerous additions that TOD gave us, but it may be worth a try.
Thinking on though there were alot of high level chars in there, as this was one of the premier dungeons on Dereth at that time. Now you wont get anyone over 140 in there so the exp. may not flow quite as quickly. But for a standard lugian dungeon this is pretty easy and enjoyable and with top notch loot.

Well, Ravenous Eaters are worth 220k each, and they go down in between 4 and 6 arrows. Withered lugians take me right around 30 arrows. Therefore, for every 30 arrows I shoot, I can earn 1,320,000xp on eaters or 400,000xp on lugians. They drop the same value of loot, as well (10k-40k pyreal range). The advantage lugians hold is that they drop higher wield-req items. Still, it takes a lot longer to bring those lugians down, which means less overall loot to collect and less experience in the same amount of time.
That's true even in the Vile Sanctuary; I always know where the lugians are going to be, but that doesn't help me take them down any faster. Still, it's a good alternative when I get sick of eaters. There aren't usually many people in the Sanctuary, if any at all, so there's no waiting in line for orange dots.
Incidentally, I found a neat rare the other night at the Ravenous Vault. It's a key with 24 uses that opens the golden chest in the Sho casino. =) I used it 10 times and didn't get anything worth keeping, but I did make some fair coin selling the stuff!

Grats on the rare pull Jen, i hadn't heard about that one before!
I may sound sad here but for the lugs with a 360 weild light bow ( non max ) but with max coord it took about 18 arrows to bring the big guys down. The advantage these big chaps have , as Jen rightly says, they drop alot of top class weapons. I pulled alot of max bows in there especially ( but i wasn't looking for melee weapons!).
I havn't done any long term fighting against the eaters, but it seems they are the flavour of the month atm! With a 3-4 hit kill you are also multiplying your chance of finding a major/rare by 5 as the amount of monsters you are bringing down is significantly higher, in comparison to the lugs.

Threre's a big difference in archer critters and melee critters. I find that the Eaters have a high melee defense and probably a low missile defense. Lugies seem to be pretty high for both, but they have the benefit of dropping the high level weapons, of being 4 times the XP of an Abhorrent and also of being slow and not evading a poor level 100 swordie. Doen side is they never drop jet or red garnet.
